🚀 What You’ll Do

Purchasing

• Purchase assigned product lines across multiple categories
• Manage approximately 1,500 stock items from 120–125 vendors
• Forecast sales volume to maximize inventory turns and reduce waste

Category Strategy

• Collaborate with Category Specialists on new item launches and category improvements
• Evaluate product and category performance to identify opportunities
• Assess vendor quality, pricing, and reliability
• Select the best suppliers for each category

Inventory Management

• Monitor inventory levels and secure replenishment as needed
• Develop strategies to reduce excess or slow‑moving inventory
• Work closely with sales, brokers, marketing, and manufacturers to improve product movement
• Optimize warehouse storage and product flow
• Produce regular product availability reports

Performance Monitoring

• Analyze category and product performance
• Recommend solutions to improve profitability and efficiency

Vendor Contract Management

• Evaluate vendor performance, quality, and cost structures
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and negotiate effectively

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

🎓 Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience
• Experience with an ERP system preferred
• Prior foodservice or distribution experience is a plus

💪 Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
• Clear verbal communication skills
• Repetitive hand and wrist motions
• Adequate visual acuity (close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment)
