Are you mechanically inclined and looking to build a career working on diesel trucks and trailers?
Feeser's Food Distributors is looking for an Entry-Level Diesel Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team in Harrisburg, PA.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has basic mechanical experience, recently completed a diesel or automotive technical program, or simply wants the opportunity to develop their skills in a professional fleet maintenance environment.
You do not need years of diesel experience to apply. We're looking for someone dependable, mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and willing to learn.
You'll work alongside experienced diesel technicians while gaining hands-on experience maintaining and repairing commercial trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment.
What You'll Do
As an Entry-Level Diesel Mechanic, you'll perform routine maintenance and basic repairs while continuing to develop your diesel and fleet maintenance skills.
Responsibilities include:
Perform preventive maintenance on diesel trucks and trailers
Complete oil changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, and routine inspections
Inspect and service brakes, suspension components, electrical systems, and other vehicle systems
Perform basic diagnostics and troubleshoot mechanical problems
Assist experienced technicians with more advanced repairs
Complete safety inspections on fleet vehicles
Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
Use diagnostic equipment and electronic work-order systems
Keep the shop and work areas clean, organized, and safe
Help ensure vehicles meet company and regulatory safety standards
Who We're Looking For
You may be a great fit if you:
Have 0-2 years of diesel, automotive, truck, trailer, or mechanical experience
Are mechanically inclined and enjoy working with your hands
Want to learn and grow as a diesel mechanic
Have basic knowledge of engines, brakes, electrical systems, or vehicle maintenance
Can safely operate hand and power tools
Pay attention to detail and take pride in your work
Are dependable and able to work independently once trained
Are comfortable using basic computer systems and diagnostic software
Recent diesel or automotive technical school graduates are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Diesel, automotive, or vocational training is preferred, but not required
CDL Class A is a plus, but not required
0-2 years of related mechanical experience
Physical Requirements
This is a hands-on mechanic position. Candidates must be comfortable standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, working around vehicles and equipment, and working in varying temperatures and shop conditions.
Must be able to lift equipment and parts weighing up to 100 pounds when necessary.
